Disney Musicals in Schools builds sustainable theater programs in under-resourced public elementary schools. By providing free performance materials and free professional development to participating teachers, Disney Musicals in Schools has helped schools across the country launch new theater programs. When Oliver Street School in Newark, New Jersey was selected, I was contacted to design a visual identity for their production of The Lion King Kids.

I was tasked with creating an identity that would engage the students creatively and inform the parents of the event. With a limited budget, myself and several other volunteers set out on an in school art initiative that would engage over 600 students, as well as the faculty.

Upon completion of the musical, the students were surprised with news that they would now get to see the The Lion King on Broadway, courtesy of NJPAC and Disney. After the production the students were able to meet the cast and ask questions.
